ACT of Greater Cincinnati
ACT of Greater Cincinnati, Inc. is an organization established in 1955 as a non-profit service organization dedicated to supporting and developing community theater in the Greater Cincinnati area.
ACT’s goal is to strive toward effective communication, assistance and camaraderie among our member groups to produce the best production possible for our audiences.
ACT is proud to sponsor and support scholarships annually to area college students in performing arts.
Each year a deserving winner is chosen from names submitted by our groups for the Art Rouse, the Roger Grooms, and Mario Pitocco annual Awards.
The Orchid Awards are presented at the end of each season determined by an adjudication system of providing 3 judges per production for each of our groups.
ACT sponsors the annual community theater Southwest Region OCTAfest held in June. In 2005, ACT was given the honor of being inducted into the Ohio Community Theater Association Hall of Fame. ACT is very proud of our member groups and what they offer our communities.

Joy Sharp
President
My name is Joy Sharp and am honored to be the ACT President for 2006/2007. I have had many jobs and been on numerous committees on the ACT Board including 2nd VP, Treasurer, Secretary, Awards, and an emergency 1st VP one year. In 1992, 1995 and 2002, I was recipient of the President Award and received the Art Rouse Award in the year 2000. I have attended ACT meetings for 25 years by replacing GHCT's ACT rep, Flo Fracker, in 1982.
I actually started my love of community theater in 1975 when I was encouraged to audition for The Music Man” in Hamilton. I caught the bug! Now entering my 31st year in theater and over 60 productions, I’ve performed with Greater Hamilton Civic Theatre, Middletown Lyric Theatre, Sunset Players, Stagecrafters, Landen-Deerfield, the Hamilton Rotary Club and LaComedia Dinner Theater. I was grateful to be in the casts of Godspell (1991) and Is There Life After High School (2006), both chosen to represent the Southwest Region at the OCTA State conference.
Through the years, I’m proud to say my daughters, Michelle and Melynda and my granddaughter, Ashley (now majoring in musical theater at NKU), have also found theater as an exciting part of their lives! Presently, I manage and sing in the 100 voice audition group – the Hamilton-Fairfield Symphony Orchestra Chorale, as well as a patriotic group – The Liberty Singers, I am Director of Operations for the Hamilton-Fairfield Symphony Orchestra, serve on the Executive Board of the Butler County Convention and Visitor's Bureau and the Butler County Tourism Council. My first love, however, is community theater where I have found and been blessed with cherished, lifetime friends! I hope to serve you well as President, as my hope is to encourage and promote "Communication and Fairness" among all of us.

Pamela Harris
Recording Secretary
Pam lives in Middletown Ohio and is active with Middletown Lyric Theatre. She is currently the Secretary for MLT, but has also held the positions of President, 1st Vice President (in charge of productions) and 2nd Vice President (in charge of publicity). Most of the time Pam is on stage, but has been known to cross over to the other side and work backstage. She's not very proficient with cutting, measuring or "visualizing," but she knows her way around a paint brush and is very good at "striking" a set. For her last birthday, her MLT friends donated, to MLT, a large push broom and a step ladder with Pam's name on them. She has used the broom quite a bit, but the ladder remains a stranger to her (something about fear of heights).
Pam has one son, one daughter-in-law and three grandchildren. Gabi, Gavin and Georgia are her biggest fans. She works as a Senior Data Analyst for Directions Research, sings in her church choir and likes to read and do cross stitch projects. Pam is also very active at both the local and district level with United Methodist Women.

Linda Roll
Librarian/Historian
Linda Roll has been acting since she can remember. Her love for entertaining began as a preschooler when she would entertain her great-grandmother at family reunions. After college, she took time off to raise her family. In 1994, she began the Milford Theatre Guilde, in hopes of bringing quality theatre to the Milford-Miami Township area. She felt the time was right and the community was large enough to support community theatre. She was right. Milford Theatre Guilde is still going strong.
She has been involved with ACT since 1996 and has served as it's librarian/historian and newsletter editor for the last several years. She has also been a regional representative to OCTA and has served on their board for several years. She was the conference chair for the OCTA conference held in Cincinnati in 2003. She is an award winning actress, costumer and director on both the local and state levels.

Arny Stoller
Publicity Standing Committee Chair
Arny has been involved with community theater since 1989. He started by manning a spotlight and then moved on to other “techie” things. He helped to build sets, worked on lights, sound, and many administrative functions for several years.
When East Side Players was casting You Can’t Take It With You it turned out that Arny was the only group member old enough to be Grandpa and he suddenly found himself learning lines and learning to act. It was an experience he loved and, although he still does a fair amount of “techie” and administrative stuff, he spends most of his community theater time on stage. He has worked with East Side Players, Beechmont Players, Stagecrafters, The Drama Workshop, Mariemont Players, Middletown Lyric Theatre, Village Players, Tri-County Players, Falcon, and Landen Deerfield Players. He is currently on the boards of Stagecrafters and Mariemont Players.
Arny was the Stagecrafters representative to ACT for several years and this is Arny’s second year as ACT Publicity Chairman.
Arny and his wife Stephanie own and operate Covap Inc. a bulk mail service company in Blue Ash. Stephanie is a long term member of Blue Ash City Council.
