Most Valuable Players 2005-2006 Season |
Giles Davies
The always dependable Giles gave us a season of memorable performances at Cincinnati Shakespeare Festival in parts both leading and supporting, ranging from Richard III to a tortured, decent man in Julius Caesar; to the bestial son of a nasty Goth Queen in Titus Andronicus; to a Cajun card player in A Streetcar Named Desire. |
Drew Fracher
Drew was Mr. Everywhere this season – giving a heartfelt performance onstage at Ensemble Theatre in Intimate Apparel, directing Moonlight and Magnolias at ETC, showing off his skills as a fight director around town (in particular at Playhouse in the Park for Stone My Heart), AND delivering an A Streetcar Named Desire for the millennium at Cincinnati Shakespeare Festival. |
Sara Goff
Sarah created a portrait gallery of characters for Cincinnati Shakespeare Festival this season. She had us from hello in Our Town (as both an exuberant little sis and a busybody neighbor), and the carefully crafted roles just kept coming throughout the season, including Portia in Julius Ceasar, and an unforgettable walk-on role as Eunice the landlady in A Streetcar Named Desire. |
Chris Guthrie
Chris has an intensity that consistently energized shows all over town. Partnered with Giles Davies in Titus Andronicus (forget “Gray’s Anatomy’s Meredith and McDreamy… these two actors were the hottest pair of the year!). Chris anchored The Last Days of Judas Iscariot and Port Authority for the Know Theatre Tribe, and to see him tip to toe in yellow feathers as Chicken Little in Three Times the Tail for New Edgecliff Theatre was an illustration in making the ridiculous sublime. |
Brian c. Mehring
The man behind the visual magic at Ensemble Theatre, Brian has consistently created fascinating, brilliant and visually stunning set AND lighting designs for ETC, ranging from a swanky, visually suggestive art museum in Permanent Collection, a madcap Hollywood office in Moonlight and Magnolias, and a mysterious cottage in a forest in Wayfarer’s Rest. |
