The Acclaim Awards celebrate Cincinnati theater by awarding outstanding work and supporting a variety of initiatives for area theater artists and educators including local Guest Equity Artist contracts, Theatre Educator Awards, Rising Stars and the Theatre Forward showcase at the Aronoff Center.

The Acclaims are not a competition; all excellence is recognized. Our panel votes on productions throughout the season from June 1 to May 15. The Acclaims applaud the best of the best wherever we find it.

Whenever possible shows are Acclaimed while still in production. You can find a list of Acclaim winning productions and categories here. Mark your calendar to join us at the annual awards program on May 19, 2008, where major award category winners are announced and the 2008-2009 season gets a musical preview.

Rising Star AWARDS The Rising Star Awards offers $1,000 awards to Cincinnati theater artists under the age of 25.	Theatre Artists Projects Previous recipents of an Acclaim award may apply to receive grants for future projects.	Theatre Educator Award Students may nominate theater educators in the Tri-State. The school theater program wins a $2,500 award.
Guest Equity Contracts The Acclaims offer smaller professional theaters an opportunity to cast a local Equity guest artist with $2,500 grants available.	Theatre Forward A competitive grant in collaboration with Cincinnati Arts Association, the winning entry is showcased in the Fifth Third Theater. 2008 ACCLAIM GRANTS MASTER CALENDAR January 4 GUEST EQUITY grant proposals are open for consideration for the 2008-2009 season. January 18 THEATRE FORWARD showcase at the Aronoff’s Fifth Third Bank Theater opens for proposals for the 2008-2009 season. February 15 THEATER EDUCATOR nominations open to students across the Tri-State March 25 THEATER EDUCATOR closes nominations. Finalists will be announced at the end of April. March 30 THEATER FORWARD deadline for grant proposals April 30 THEATER ARTIST PROJECTS (TAP) grant deadline for Sept. 1, 2008-Feb. 28, 2009 May 19 THEATER EDUCATOR AWARD, THEATER FORWARD and TAP grants announced at ACCLAIM AWARDS June 30 GUEST EQUITY grant proposal deadline for 2008-2009 October 30 THEATER ARTIST PROJECTS (TAP) grant deadline for March 1-August 31, 2009
