Jack and the Giant Production Details

Beechmont Players, Cincinnati’s premiere eastside community theatre group,  is pleased to announce the cast of their family-friendly summer musical, Jack and the Giant, book by Vera Morris, music & lyrics by Bill Francoeur.

This charming musical version of Benjamin Tabart's classic English folk
tale, "The History of Jack Spriggins and the Enchanted Bean" is a perfect way of celebrating Beechmont’s 51 years of quality community entertainment.

McNicholas student Max Kamphaus, a veteran of Beechmont’s My Emperor’s New Clothes, returns to the Beechmont stage as the not-very-practical but very brave hero Jack.

Grady Lehman, last seen in Beechmont’s Hyronomous A
.Frog,
the Frog Prince, portrays Jack’s discouraged mother.

Beechmont favorite Vernon Burns, last seen in Beechmont’s spring production of Speaking in Tongues, portrays Miss Priss, a cow with attitude.

Laura Boggs, who most recently portrayed Billie in Beechmont’s fall production of Unnecessary Farce, is Jack’s sister Susan.

Beechmont audiences will remember Bean-seller Sharon Ann Shelton from her role as Domina in Beechmont’s production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and also as the director of last winter’s very successful Messiah on the Frigidaire.

Beechmont regular James Ball is returning to the stage as High Sheriff Dumdum after roles in Beechmont’s Tom, Dick and Harry
and The Confidence Man.

Newcomer Bryce Willson creates the character of
the not-quite-sharp-as-a-tack Scarecrow.

Geoff Amann, Susie Hurst, Donna Surber and Benjamin Minney portray the poor but hopeful villagers.

Abby Winternitz returns to the Beechmont stage as dutiful daughter
Princess Tulip after performing with the Children’s choir in Beechmont’s summer blockbuster Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Regular Joodi Archer portrays her mother, Good Queen Violet.

Garry R. Hohnecker is Sir Stumble Mumble who… well… stumbles and mumbles.

theatrical roles.

Tommy Galvin, a Beechmont regular, enthusiastically embraces the
role of the nasty Troll.

Lynne Aronson, veteran of Beechmont productions
including This Must Be the Place, is the Wiggle-Waggle making Housekeeper.

Rebecca Wiesman, seen most recently on the Beechmont stage in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Grease is the giant’s Cook

Local communitarian Sheila Mudd Baker makes her Beechmont debut as the Chicken, the Giant’s personal ATM machine.

Rebecca Krausser, most recently seen in Beechmont’s Speaking in
Tongues
, is the beautiful singing Harp who can lull the Giant to sleep.

Jack and the Giant is directed by founding Beechmont member Larry Behymer with assistance from Beechmont board member Carolyn Lipchik.
