THE FANTASTICKS, final show in Playhouse in the Park’s 50th anniversary season and final entry in the ACCLAIM AWARDS 2009-2010 calendar finishes the awards’ year with two Acclaims.

Ron Bohmer is applauded as Outstanding Musical Lead Performance in an Equity Production and   Dale Hodges and Joneal Joplin share the Outstanding Duo Acclaim, a created category to accommodate their performances as a motley pair of aging actors and comic foils in the musical, which continues through June 20 in the Thompson Shelterhouse.

The Acclaims recognize excellence in professional, university and independent theater in Greater Cincinnati.

The Acclaim Awards celebrate local theater by awarding outstanding work and supporting a variety of grant initiatives for area theater artists and educators including local Guest Equity Artist contracts, Theatre Educator Awards and Rising Stars.

The fifth annual Acclaim Awards celebrating the 2009-2010 Greater Cincinnati theater season were held on May 24 at the Aronoff Center for the Arts. Watch for information on the 6th annual Acclaim Awards, celebrating the 2010-2011 Cincinnati theater season.
